Ninja

Who hasn’t seen the ninja movies in which they fight, jump, and roll on the floor? They make it look so easy and cool, but is it really that easy? If you want to experience being a ninja yourself and try at least some of the moves of a ninja, keep reading the instructions to this fun game that can be played anywhere and at any given time.

What do you need?
There is no equipment needed to play the game “ninja”. As long as you have some fellow players, you are ready to go. I would recommend playing in a group of about 4–20 players, but of course, it also works with only two players or 30 players, might just not be as much fun.

How to play?
The first step in the game is to form a circle with all the players. In the beginning, each player stands in the middle, very close to its neighbouring players, because the game starts off with all the players holding their hands in the middle. On the count of three, each player says “ohhhh, niiiinjaaaa” and then jumps away from the middle of the circle while making and then landing in a ninja position.
The game then goes as follows:
The goal of each player is to not let another ninja hit their forearm or hand. At the same time, you want to hit other players forearms or hands to kick them out of the game. It is only allowed to hit the arms of others with your hand, not with a foot or anything else.
To start, one player begins with a ninja movement. This player can make any movement they want; the only rule is that one foot has to be on the ground at all times. You can jump towards other players, jump away from them, lower yourself to the ground, raise/ lower your arms, or do whatever you want. Once you are in a certain position, you are not allowed to move until it is your turn again. The only exception to that rule is when you are being “attacked” by another player: When this happens, you are allowed to move away to protect your arms from them, but remember, one foot has to stay on the ground at all times. When this one player has finished their move, the player to his left begins his movement, and so on.
If another player hits your forearm or hand, this arm is out, and you have to hold it behind your back to signal to other players that this arm can no longer be hit. Once both of your arms are hit, you are out of the game and have to leave the circle.
However, the players do not have to stand in an actual circle throughout the whole game since you are allowed to move anywhere; it is just important to remember which player’s turn it is before yours to not mix up the order.
Each movement or “attack” is accompanied by a loud ninja-like yell to make it more fun and bring you closer to being an actual ninja.

I hope you enjoy this game and have fun playing!
