This is a German game I used to love at the schoolyard when I was in school.
It is a tag game which is easy to understand but yet entertaining and fun.

What do you need?
The best part about ‘Fischer, Fischer’ is that you don’t need any material. It is enough to have a rather big space on the schoolyard where you can run from one side to the other.

Who plays?
This game works with a minimum of 4 players. Despite the fact that it is more enjoyable with more people. It is perfect for children in preschool age and older.

How to play “Ahoi Captain”?
How deep is the sea
Before the game begins, you have to agree on two areas at a distance of however many meters you want. I would suggest between 6 and 20 meters. You can also draw two lines or use two walls or fences that are suitable. Each line is a shore, and the area between them is the water. The captain stands on one bank, i.e. behind one of the lines or at a wall, and the other players stand on the other bank.
They call out, “Ahoi Captain, how deep is the water?” The captain names any depth, and he answers, for example, “10 meters!”
Then the children ask, “How do we get across?” Now the captain may think of a way for the children to get to the other shore. He calls out, for example, “Hopping on one leg” or “Walking backwards.”
Now the children start moving in the way they were commanded. While they try to get across the water, the fisherman tries to catch as many as possible. He moves in the same way as the others, so on one leg, backwards, with his eyes closed, …
Whoever is caught helps the fisherman catch them in the next round. So whoever is left last is the winner.

What color is the flag
You can also ask the captain about the color of the flag that is flying on his boat. That is a different variation of this game and also a lot of fun.
The preparations remain the same: You will need two shores with the Captain on one side and all the other players on the other.
“Ahoi Captain, which flag is flying today?” The fisherman then answers: “Green!” or “Yellow!”, “Red!”, “Blue!”, Black!”, “White!” etc. Now all the children start on their side of the playing area and run towards the other side, and the captain runs towards them. The captain must try to catch as many children as possible who are wearing the previously mentioned color on their bodies. All the children without this color can walk to the other side without getting caught. Once all the children have reached the finish line, the first round is over. In the next round, all the children who got caught go with the captain to the finish line and help him catch the others. The game repeats until the last child is caught. The last child is the winner of the game and now gets to be the captain.
