I’m sure you’ve heard something like this before in your school: „ Don’t throw around things, it’s to dangerous!“ and of course, throwing materials to others or receiving them can end very bad for everyone. In contrast, if applied safely, it can improve your hand-eye coordination, motor skills and overall body awareness. It also helps developing strength, balance and timing which are essential for further physical activities and sports. It is also often part of team work games and sports which encourage collaboration, communication and social bonding. All in all, it definetely helps children to gather a wide range of capabilities and therefore should be integrated in their movement as early as possible.
