Dairy products might be one of the most important items in your children’s diet. In dairy produce is a lot of vitamin D and especially Calcium which is crucial for bones to keep strong and the Vitamin D is important to absorb the calcium. This is also important for adults but especially for children as their bones are still growing and because they are very active, they have a higher risk of breaking bones so to strengthen them is very important.
What kind of dairy you choose to give your child does not really matter. What does is how you give them to them as the piece of cheese on a cheeseburger is not very healthy because it has all the ingredients of a burger make the meal high on refined carbohydrate, sodium, and saturated fat if you choose to have something like that as a meal which is a totally fine choice you can try to take a low-fat cheese as there the saturated fat is lower and with that the whole meal has less saturated fats. If you give your child a Yoghurt with fruits and nuts it is totally OK to choose the full fat version. Also, Milk and Yoghurt are lower on Sodium so if you plan out your children’s diet have that in mind as an alternative to cheese. And for cheeses yellow cheeses are also higher on calcium than white cheeses. If you choose to have a vegan diet or your child can not have milk because of allergies then you can also choose fortified plant milks such as soy, almond or rice. If you choose so you should just look at the ingredients and choose a milk alternative with 100mg of calcium per 100ml.
As you can see the kind of dairy is rather unimportant but the method of how and with what is important to ensure that your children have a healthy diet.
